Noelle and Theo – Family Photography in Seoul

Family Photography World Cup Park Seoul

I first met the two darlings you see below when Deborah and Tam visited to take custody of their youngest, Noelle, back in 2016. When I got the message saying that they would be back to visit foster families and spend some time in Seoul, I quickly made a note in my calendar to keep their dates open until we could lock in a visit time. It’s always a pleasure to catch up with friends and work with families again in this transient city. We were in for a great time.

When we first met, Noelle was just getting to know her family so we kept our session light and fun as I love to do. Theo was such a great big brother to her then and I’m so glad to see that hasn’t changed one bit. These two get along like the clichéd house-on-fire. Here are a couple of frames from our first session two years ago to get us started here.

This time around would be a very different session for us. We would be in a cafe with the family of four and both children’s foster families. It was going to be a lot of energy and emotion in a tight space and I couldn’t wait! We met up at the subway station close to the cafe a little before the session to catch up. I couldn’t believe I got a hug from Noelle right away. Last time we met, she would only cling to her mother for the whole session. Now we were friends!

I thought that these two hadn’t changed a bit. Their faces in my mind were exactly what I remembered of them. Then I checked back on the old photos. They had grown so much! Both are loving and kind souls, and I hope that comes through in the images from the day. They love to have fun and share that with everyone around them.

We spent a good amount of time with their families playing and enjoying coffee. Theo and Noelle gave back every bit of love they received from all present and the time was up far too quickly. Once the meeting was over, we quickly took a taxi to World Cup Park (check out my location guide for more!) and got in a 30-minute family session to wrap up the day. We were the only people under this beautiful avenue of trees and that made for a special end to the session.

I believe very strongly in adoption and this was a special day for me. Spending time not only with good friends and their wonderful children, but getting to see again the wonders of adoption. Thank you, Deborah and Tam, for allowing me to join your family once again, and thanks, Noelle and Theo, for the hugs! See you next time, guys!
