I’ve done a few different proposal shoots in this area of Jeju now. There’s just no view like it. It’s gorgeous in all seasons and works at both sunrise and sunset. On this particular day, I got up early and waited on top of the hill for the couple to arrive.
As they began their walk up the hill, a typical Jeju scene played out. The layer of clouds and haze on the horizon softened the light from the sunrise and brought a gentle feeling to the scene. Unlike sunrise, which tends to be a lot more of a strong, harsh light, sunrises on Jeju typically bring this sort of feeling. This is especially true around the changes of season.
But, Bryan’s proposal would have looked wonderful in any light! It was short, sweet, and brought them both so much happiness.
After the proposal, we walked down the mountain together and spent a little time in the fields at its base. With nobody around, I was able to photograph the couple in any direction with any background. This is another great thing about the sunrise! Of course, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, especially as the days get longer during summer. In fact, with this session, we were done and had parted ways by 7am!
A big thanks to the lovely couple again and all those who have come to view this post. Please do reach out if you’re interested in scheduling a session with me and follow my Instagram for more sessions like this one!
